How to Troubleshoot a Pump Automatic Pressure Control

If you've had problems with your Pump Automatic Pressure Control, one of the first steps to solving the problem is to find out the exact cause. Some common problems with automatic pump controllers include a problem with the switch or a malfunction of the pump. If this happens to you, there are several simple things you can do to correct the issue.

First, determine the pressure that you want your pump to operate at. You can adjust the starting pressure manually, but you can also choose an automatic control. An automatic pump pressure controller automatically adjusts itself to match the pressure in your pipeline. This way, it's always ready to pump once your tap is opened. Plus, you'll save money on water bills. Another benefit of an automatic pressure control is its simplicity.

Next, make sure you know the operating pressure range of the pump. You'll want to ensure that the pump doesn't operate at higher pressures than it can handle. The pump's range should be at least 55 psi. If it goes higher than this, the pump will stop. To adjust this range, you can turn the large nut counter-clockwise.

If the pump is running too high, it can also be due to a dirty water filter. Using a pump control with a filter that is too dirty may cause it to run forever. Alternatively, you can adjust the pump's cut-out pressure to a higher number.
